Sunday is normally a pretty relaxing day. We hit the park early, just to help Darko shed a bit of energy, go for a nice walk on the new Rail Trail near our place and create that “Sunday to do list”.
Our list always involves Darko. He is my big/little shadow. He has a way of reminding us of just that with his red chew ring.
This Sunday was a bit different. Not one, but three football games and the World Series! Darko was initiated into the world of NFL yelling and the “You’ve got to be kidding me” slightly raised voices. All in all, it was a lot of fun.
Baseball seemed to be the mellow sport for Darko. With walks in-between games, the young pup was worn out by the time we left for church.
We made sure Darko had plenty of attention, had lots of fresh water and went on a few walks. Providing a little extra love throughout the noisy day will help him as he grows up to avoid noise shyness and anxiety. As he is a big puppy, we want to make sure that we continue to expose him to things in a calm manner that will enable him to adapt to large groups and noise as he matures. We know that all the extra touches, hugs and calm chats will help not only Darko, but those who will be visiting our home….
We all know there is nothing worse than an ill-tempered dog, or a dog with terrible manners…. especially a german shepherd or large dog.
How did your Sunday go? Did your friend watch football or baseball with you? Any special events? Please share with us! We would love to hear from you. www.seawolfgourmet.com or email@example.com
